Description
This indigenous variety known as Pattu rose, used for making garlands, is on the brink of extinction. Both Paneer and Pattu roses are native varieties cultivated in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu.
These local roses are aromatic, disease-resistant, and drought-tolerant. However, many farmers have transitioned to hybrid rose cultivation, which offers a range of artificial colors but lacks fragrance.
At ROF, we are dedicated to conserving and promoting these native rose varieties among home gardeners, ensuring that this exquisite aromatic rose can be passed down to future generations.
