Visuals & Flavor
Unlike standard sweet corn, Glass Gem is a flint corn. The kernels have a hard outer shell that shines like glass. This specific “Purple Mixed” line produces cobs dominated by rich purples, blues, darker rainbows, and pearlescent whites.
Culinary Use: When dried, the kernels can be popped into fluffy, bright white popcorn with a delicious, nutty flavor. It can also be ground into high-quality cornmeal for baking.
Ornamental Use: The dried cobs make incredible autumn decorations or gifts.

Growing Information:
Season: Warm season crop (Requires full sun).

Soil: Well-draining, fertile soil rich in organic matter.

Pollination: Corn is wind-pollinated. For best results and full cobs, plant in blocks (squares) rather than a single long row.
Harvest: Allow the cobs to dry on the stalk until the husks are brown and papery for the “glass” look to fully develop.
